“The custom wine program allows us another way to serve our winery customers, and positions Sagemoor as the go-to choice for wineries in building out their long-term business goals.”
General Manager
Pasco, WA (8/8/23): Sagemoor is pleased to announce the expansion of its team to include Danny Gordon, in a newly created role as General Manager of Sagemoor Vineyards and Wines of Sagemoor. Danny has an extensive background in the wine industry with a 24-year history with Tamarack Cellars, a long-time customer of Sagemoor Vineyards prior to their acquisition by Vintage Wine Estates. Danny’s experience in the wine industry and working closely with vineyards is a natural extension of his background in agriculture, having grown up on his family’s farm in Willamette Valley and graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in General Agriculture and a minor in Soil Science. As General Manager, Danny will drive the execution of Sagemoor’s strategic vision of its 1,300+ acres of vineyards and wine program. For Sagemoor Vineyards, this includes a deeper integration into the business plans of its winery customers, helping wineries achieve their long-term goals and objectives with Sagemoor grapes. For Sagemoor Estates, this includes the business development of its custom wine, private label programs, and sale of Sagemoor wines. Danny adds, “The custom wine program allows us another way to serve our winery customers, and positions Sagemoor as the go-to choice for wineries in building out their long-term business goals.” Danny will work closely with the vineyard and wine management team, which includes Brittany Komm (Vineyard Operations Manager), Lacey Lybeck (Grape Sales Manager), Aryn Morell (Director of Winemaking), Edith Morell (Director of Hospitality), and Kent Waliser (Brand Ambassador). A long-time member of the Sagemoor team, Kent’s focus will be building the Sagemoor brand across the Pacific Northwest. Miles Kohl, CEO of Sagemoor’s parent company Allan Bros., Inc. comments, “Having a General Manager coordinating our vineyard and wine programs allows us to be opportunistic in managing our existing and future growth. Our recent expansion into Walla Walla with Southwind Vineyard and new additions to our management team align with our goal to not only provide winery customers with high-quality grapes, but an expansion of custom wine services to drive business growth. From Sagemoor’s rich history of the first plantings in 1972 to now over 1,300 acres and over 100 winery customers, we are well situated to handle the recent and future planned growth of our customers.”
